>>and then lots of friends who are djs themselves tell me he [DJ Rupture] can't mix... <<

Then you're friends are either snobs or not good themselves because I've seen Rupture DJ about 5 times and he's just fucking RAD. He even came and DJ-ed on my radio shows (to be broadcast later this month) and he even beatmatched perfectly without a crossfader on shitty decks. Just my 2cents...

yes Christan Marclay is teh best. probably one of teh top 3 shows I've ever seen. Totally strange, engageing, innovative-still, and smart as shit.

But I don't know why so many people are posting people that they probably COULD get to play their parties. Shit I'd have Led Zepplin or ACDC play!!! now that would be a PARTY!

Geoff GDAM...aka Lance Blisters (NYC). Writes his own software for audio manipulation during a laptop DJ set. May not sound interesting to you purists, but he puts together some great IDM, breakcore and drumcore shit. VSnares to Bogdanracynski. And remixes on the spot. Highly recommended.

i saw dj rupture recently when he came out to sydney, he was pretty good, but im not a dj so i cant judge his technique.. the mix is good though

but i have to say that the best dj ive seen be it hiphop/hardcore/jungle/dumb n base/or even noisy shit
would have to be markN
he kicks arse in the dj comps which are hip hop , plays/writes good stuff, he can actually scratch ,
n hes not a bad bloke

if i had a second choice itd be abelcain/davros.. or maybe syndicate
